Concerning number of fatal drunk driving accidents in Tulsa

Drunk driving continues to be a serious problem on our nation’s roads. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 28 people die each day as a result of DUI accidents.

NerdWallet recently used data available from the NHTSA and quotes from insurers to compare the per capita rate of alcohol-impaired accidents with the increased cost of insurance following a DUI conviction. There was a correlation between lower insurance rate increases in six of the top ten cities with the highest per capita fatal drunk driving crashes.

Unfortunately, Tulsa, Oklahoma, ranks number four on a national list of ten cities for the highest rate of alcohol-related accidents per capita. A driver is more likely to meet a drunk driver in Tulsa than in San Francisco, California.
